LOGGING SHEET
This is a record of the tapes we used and relevant clips that we wanted to use in the final copy. We differentiated between the clips that were suitable and appropriate to use due to lighting and camera angle etc. We also allocated the right times they occur and which shots they are according to where they appear on the tapes. Below are the tape logs that we made for our video, however we didn’t include all of them in this particular blog.

MARKETING
The internet is an extremely sufficient way of marketing as almost everyone nowadays has access to it, particularly our target audience who tend to spend alot of time on social networking websites such as; Facebook , MySpace.and Twitter.
Marketing Aims for the complete Digipack
Product:Digipack
Product:Digipack
Target Consumer:
Our product mainly targets 13-25 year olds as the genre is mainy popular amongst teengagers and youth, however the some content of the song is one that can appeal to a slightly older audience aswell. It would target both males and females, perhaps males moreso as they may see the artist as a malce role model and therefore relate more to him, however the music video does not objectify women and show exposure of their body so it will not just appeal to males but females also.
Although the hip hop genre was originally a more black ethnicity domain, clearly now artists from more different racial backgrounds are coming forth from this genre such as our artist so it will appeal to an audience from a wide range of ethnicities.
Despite the artist talking about issu€es that are evident to people from all sorts of backgrounds, the artist's song does briefly mention what he feels like ot be negatively labelled in society as a young british pakistan muslim male, so perhaps people from similar demographic variables as our artists will relate more to him and therefore be more likely to buy his music.
As far as social class is concerned, itis evident that our artist seems quite humble and working class, his appearance.clothes, accessories etc seem attractive but not specifically 'bling' or very expensive, so although he shall be marketing and selling a trend, it is an affordable one especially amongst a younger, perhaps non-working audience. Despite this, and the fact that hip hop genre is very authentic and started from 'the streets' whom of which are from a working class social background , it can still appeal to those belonging to a middle/higher class.
Unique selling point:
I believe the unique selling point of our product is mainly its use of bold colours used in the abstract graphics and artistic graffiti , rather than the stereotype hip hop convention of graffiti which only uses words and colours that are more 'toned down' and simple designs.
This distorted, bold artistic graffiti background we encorporated portrays self expression and compliments the artist. However, our artist is still the main focal of the digipack, due to positioning, composition and camera angle of the image of the artist.
Another unique selling point of our digipack is that unlike many conventional sterotypical hip hop genre adverts and CD covers, it does not have indecent exposure of women or exposure of exagerrated material posessions eg;excessive cash, jewellery and cars.
This somewhat 'strips' down the artist and helps the audience to focus on him as a musician and th true origin of what hip hop is about- self expression, which also refers back to the name of the single 'Straight Hip Hop' as the artists song content has a crucial message and Crucial is also the name of the artist.
This clever play on words helps the audience to relate to the audience and shows just what kind of artist he really is which gives it the artists song of being sold more.
Attention/Awareness:
To capture the attention of our audience, I have created an advert designed to be shown in a magazine to advertise our artist's single.Considering my target audience are aged 13-25 I shall promote and raise awareness of my product through distribution of the advert in posters across various schools/colleges/universities and youth clubs (where our audience are highly likely to be reached.)
Also through social networking website such as Facebook, Myspace & Twitter as our target audience spend alot of time on the computer.
As this single is our artist's debut, I shall also add promotional offers for raves/clubs/parties and music related competitions to increase consumers and selling our product.

ALTERNATIVE LOCATION
We were unable to shoot at one of our locations (Finsbury Park square) with the floor that lights up.
We had asked an on site security guard, who'd informed us that we were not permitted to film anything or put our tripod down unless we got permission from the council.
I then contacted Broadgate Estate Council/EMO office and was informed that filming there was free of charge for students but due to their busy schedule they could not fit us in to an available time slot for us to film there.
Overall, we were unable to shoot here, especially due to our tight time schedule.
Alternatively we decided upon shooting this scene at a different location- Beach studio at Stanmore College.
We chose to film here because we could get near enough the same effect; a dark room, borrow lights from the media department and put the spotlight on the artists' legs ( just above the knee- using the rule of thirds) and eventually tilt up the artists full body & face.

Projection
PROCEDURE OF PRDUCTION SHOTS:
After some secondary research and looking at our music indicative RKZ - Defeat Me ft Raxstar & Menis I put forth the idea of using a digital projector attatched to the ceiling or over head projecor and PowerPoint of images to get a similar effect of the one in the music video.
First, myself and team members went location scouting within our college, looking for classrooms suitable for shooting.
We came across the art studio as its not very busy , however as you can see in images below there was a large wooden table causing obstruction and little space for the artist to perform.
I also considered to shot our scenes in another room in Spruce using an over head projector as it would be easier to adjust as oppose to the digital projector.
OVER HEAD PROJECTOR:
DIGITAL PROJECTOR:
However not only was the Over Head Projector difficult to move around, it was not available to use as other students had already booked to use it.
Therefore, we decided to the TV Studio was most efficient and suitable to do our filming in because it was available for times suitable to us, easily accesiible for all of us, had more than enough space, access to a computer nearby the whiteboard, also a wall plug (circled red in the image below) not too far so we could plug in and place the spotlight (circled yellow in the image below) in the desired area and ofcourse has a digital projector.

PROCEDURE OF MAKING THE POWERPOINTS:
1.GETTING THE IMAGES
I had to find the most efficient way of using non-copyright images and I did so by making an account with Flikr - (certainly the best online photo management and sharing application.)
Wherein one can carry our an advanced search and opting for non-copyright images as shown below...

| ...SEARCHING FOR AN IMAGE |
![]() |
| ...SETTING THE OPTION TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE ALL NON-COPYRIGHT IMAGES |
The next step was placing images on a powerpoint accordingly to match the lyrics in the song.
