CRUCIAL:' PURE HIP HOP ' lyrics & analysis

SONG LYRICS:

This is hip hop right here..crucial

My brain cells addicted to speed
I follow the assassins’ creed , dominant species, new breed
suicide bomber aint the path that I lead al-Qaeda'd out on the scene, crucial execution , see

This is hip hop in its purest form, recognise it G, DJ Preem, the beats are supreme
And no one fuckin' with the way that i speak, so don’t compare me to Lowkey or Immortal technique
When I’m just doing me

I’m governing my own religion, it’s the new edition
I’m flipping the lyrics to a side before its Biggies vision
I’m in the fifth dimension, living in a prison and I don’t concern myself with humans no more cos most of them are bitches
my rhymes will leave you
leave your infant babies face covered with stitches..and kill ur unborn child while still in its foetus
you wouldn't understand the wrath of a genius
you know me I’m anti fascist anti Christ and anti gimmicks.

Anarchist, above average anabist aint an act or an activist..
arrogant, abbasinate the alphabet , always out to accumulate interactuate and leave dull minds acculiate

That was alphabetic slaughter
the melody’s so goody goodys compared to Pakistani law enforces
and all you people do is talk about terrorist threats, give me a break man you aint seen terrorist yet.

Till the break of dawn I practice scientology
my rhymes hit harder than.
mafia contracts on your family
People will be people though aint a damn thing changed
still a lot of deception a lot of pride and a lot of vain
Happy with the things are going now, no complaints

watch the news , feel sorry then back on the games
what the hell is going on in your brain
what the hell is you a stupid motherfucker - your whole generations in the drain
reconciles in the toilet nowadays
we downloading everything, no one really wants to pay but i stick to the scripts you other brothers...
trip and spill..its a stupid thought to step against the bisons will

man i dont understand you people sometimes ,
i don't understand why motherfuckers use eachother all the time
pissed off, im chopping the head of racist reverend
running through the streets on september eleventh

Give me a day or better yet give me some seconds
and im gunna turn your most gangsta diciple into a revolutionairy veteren
throwing shots at your president
retrospectively blasting holes in your history
like a cannon ball, like im back from the eighteenth century
this was meant always meant to be, the prophecys predicted me

I step out of interdimensional portals
i reside in the netherealms where the fires of hell is the focal

my brain will only turn your brain into tomato juice
you're about to find out what the human tornado do

Breaking bias beliefs
boradening brains breaking beef batter bnp backers battling barbarocracy
baffling barz barodynamics, easy B, balaklava on backpackin bidded baratory

ay yo swiss its over

dead c squares my literature
when i spit my lyrics , its ridiculous
i make evel knievel chillin down his spine

crucial  ,excecution

ANALYSIS OF 'STRAIGHT HIP HOP' LYRICS:
Quite clearly, unlike most songs this one does not have a specific structure eg; verse 1 , chorus, verse 2 , then chorus repeated. This is quite common amongst the rap-hip hop genre, it adds authenticity as itis appears as a freestyle.
However itis not completely distorted as the beat of the song is steady and structured as the lyrics go along with it, making it catchy and really captivates the audience so they'd be more likely to buy the single.
One of our music video indicitives is Lowkey; 'Something Wonderful' our artists relates to the artist- Lowkey in more ways than one, as although he isn't a hip hop artist, his genre of rap/grime is also an influence is our artist (Crucial's) music and is encorporated in his style of song.
Therefore, Lowkey has also released a song of this style (no specific structure, sounds like a freestyle, catchy beat):  Lowkey & Faith SFX -Alphabet Assassias shown in the lyrics
particularly in the following lyrics :

Breaking bias beliefs

boradening brains breaking beef batter bnp backers battling barbarocracy
baffling barz barodynamics, easy B, balaklava on backpackin bidded baratory

Aside from this, there are many conventions of a hip hop song it meets such as; the first line of lyrics : 'This is hip hop right here..crucial' , many hip hop (also rap) artists start off their songs with simply introducting themselves such as this . the following are examples of this;
American hip hop artist 'Eminems' song  is also another indicitive for our

have the lyrics  '50 and Jeremih number 1 there’s nothing higher'  early on in the song.

British rap/hip hop artists Devlin: Community OutcastWithin the first 10 seconds they have the artist saying 'Devlin..Community Outcast..This ones for..' where in he is introducing the song and himself as the artist

In addition to the content of the lyrics, unlike many pop songs it doesn't have a specific narrative eg; a romance blossoming between a male and female and they end up being together at the end.
Its clearly written in first person as it says 'I' and 'my' which reflects his own views upon current issues such as racism and negative stereotyping as he says:
'suicide bomber aint the path that I lead al-Qaeda'd out on the scene'
which reflects Islamaphobia in modern society as the artist as a muslim expressing that despite him having a beard and being muslim he should not be judged as a suicide bomber etc.

In addition he also raises awareness on racism in general his lyrics
'pissed off, im chopping the head of racist reverend' reflects his anger towards the fact that racism still exists to such an extent.

The following lyrics;
'the melody’s so goody goodys compared to Pakistani law enforces,
and all you people do is talk about terrorist threats, give me a break man you aint seen terrorist yet.'

are not only a reflection on the artist's identity as he is originally from Pakistan but more importantly about the political uproar and terrorist issues in Pakistan.
Such current affairs and problems across the world are evident in the news , however many of us still decide to be ignorant towards it and just 'get back on our games' which is shown in the following lyrics in which the artists feels more awareness should be raised about current affairs and issues within society;

'watch the news , feel sorry then back on our games
what the hell is going on in your brain
what the hell is you a stupid motherfucker - your whole generations in the drain'

Therefore, Lupe Fiasco is one of the main music artist indicitives for our artist, Lupe Fiasco is an American Hip-hop artist whom also encorporates current affairs and controversial societal issues within his lyrics such one of his recent songs;

Itis evident through his lyrics of this song in which he raises the 9/11 incident, how the gaza strip is wrongly being bombed etc.

Despite, his lyrics seeming to be very indie and controversial there are still conventions of hip hop within it,  such as including swear words such as 'motherfucker', also the whole hip hop artist demeanor of confidence and dominance as shown in the lyrics 'my rhymes hit harder than mafia contracts on your family''
also when he refers to himself as a 'genius.'
However, the song challenge conventions of a hip hop song as it does not mention money, the exposure of other material posessions (cars, jewellery) nor does it mention women and objectify them.
Although as you can see this is encorporated in many mainstream hip hop songs of today...

Overall, the song is titled 'straight hip hop' and includes the sentence of lyrics 'this is hip hop right here' and is basically aiming to convey the idea that real hip hop is not just about material posessions and objectifying women, more so itis about self expression and the artists Crucial so happens to be expressing his passionate views upon many issues, which also raises awareness eg anti racism.
Therefore it can appeal to a wide audience, as they're everyday issues not complex, and send a good message particularly to a younger audience.
